The central flexible steel frame contains the fixed white diffuser screen for creating soft diffused light. A zipped cover is placed over this frame to enable the other 4 reflective surfaces to be readily acquired as needed.

The translucent Diffusion layer can be used to lighten shadows and is particularly useful for portraits and illuminated small reflective objects, because it takes away the harshness of direct light.

The Gold layer is designed to give a soft warm golden glow to an object, similar to the light you may get during a sunset.

The White layer is in effect a bounce board, designed to give extra punch when extra lights are unavailable or when setting up a light is impractical. This layer can also be used as a fill light by bouncing a light source from it. The light reflected off this layer is diffused with no change in colour temperature.

The Black layer can be used as negative fill, whereby the goal is to remove light rather than reflect it. A common technique is placing the black layer on one side of the subject to prevent light (from walls and floors) from hitting that side. This technique is used to increase contrast and is particularly effect when creating that ‘film noir’ look.

The Silver layer creates a bright clean fill similar to the white layer. The colour does not change but the light will seem to have more oomph compared to the white layer.
